First round of privatization in numbers

Novi Sad school of Journalism monitors the process of media privatization in Serbia, within the project “South East European Media Observatory“. In the first round of privatization only seven media outlets were sold,while rest of them will have to get new owners no later than October 31st. The privatization process can be monitored via “Countdown” interactive map, and here we bring you are view of the first round of privatization in numbers.

0 – the number of soldprint media outlets

1 – the number of media outlets which had more than one bidder

1 – the number of media outlets which got a woman as owner

1,43 – the average number of bidders per media outlet

3 – the number of media outlets that businessman Radojica Milosavljević bought in the first round of privatization

3 – the number of sold media outlets in Vojvodina

4 – the number of sold media outlets in Central Serbia

4 – number of media outlets that ceased to exist since the beginning of privatization (Radio Paraćin, TV Ćuprija, Radio Leskovac and International Radio Srbija)

4 – the largest number of bidders for one media outlet (RTV Trstenik)

6 – times higher selling price than the initial was reached in the case of RTV Trstenik

7 – total number of media outlets that were sold in the first round of privatization

14.000 (EUR) – the price at which the cheapest media was sold (RTV Kruševac)

177.000 (EUR) – the price at which the most expensive media was sold (RTV Trstenik)
