Corruption Interruption Open Forum

The first CORRUPTION INTERRUPTION open forum dedicated to fight against corruption in the project was held on 10-11. May in Sarajevo.

The conference organized by the project partner – Media Initiative, brought together experts in the field of fight against corruption, not only from Bosnia and Hercegovina, but also from Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia.

Forum was opened by the Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Hercegovina, who said in his opening statement that “corruption is an obstacle to a social and economic progress and fighting it is an important criterion for accession to the European Union and NATO.” He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina has made significant progress in this area, which includes an increased number of investigations against senior officials on suspicion of corruption, as well as sanctions against public officials.

Radenko Udovicic, program director of the Media Initiative, concluded that this conference should help exchange experiences and knowledge on how to fight corruption.

The Corruption Interruption project is realized with the financial support of the General Directorate for Enlargement of the European Commissionand and the National Endowment for Democracy.
