Media educators from Serbia participated in training in Czech Republic

Six media educators from Serbia took part in a training in Prague and Brno from 9 to 15 May 2017 as part of the project „Debanking Misinformation“, which is carried out by Novi Sad School of Journalism and the organization „Tranzitions“. The project is supported by the Foreign Ministry of Czech Republic.

The group of educators – the representatives from faculty departments of journalism and from civil society – has attended the four-day program together with the participants from Armenia, Georgia, Belarus, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The topic of the training was the analysis of the information on social networks in order to build capacities for dealing with media propaganda and misinformation in public domain. The participants were introduced to various tools for checking the sources and veracity of media content.

Upon arrival to Serbia, all the educative material will be translated to Serbian so that it can avaliable for the education of Serbian journalists. As well as that, the trained instructors are going to educate young journalists and journalism student about this topic, in order for them to apply the acquired knowledge in Serbia.
