LOKMED OBSERVATORY

Project duration: October 2017 – March 2018.

Financial support: EU Delegation to Serbia

“Lokmed Observatory” is committed to fostering media integrity and effective distribution of resources for public information at the local level. The project includes three municipalities from Vojvodina – Novi Sad, Subotica and Kikinda – which, on the basis of privatization monitoring of local media (NNŠ, 2015), are recognized as areas with high risk in the fields of media freedom and media pluralism. The survey will include (1) a financial analysis of the allocation of funds in these municipalities over the past three years; (2) focus groups with the citizens of these municipalities; (3) public actions; (4) a report with research results and recommendations; (5) presentation of results to decision makers, local media outlets and citizens.

The project is being implemented under the “Public Money for Public Interest” program conducted by BIRN, NUNS and the Slavko Curuvija Foundation within the framework of the Civil Society Facility Program 2015 of the EU Delegation.
