Developing Tolerance through Media reporting

Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities, July – August 2022.

Five analytical and critical texts about media reporting on sensitive groups were written within the project “Developing Tolerance trough Media reporting”.

These texts could be read on NSSJ’s website in Serbian language on following links:

1.Media stigmatization of people with mental disorders
2. Ageism and media: stereotyping the youth and (in)visibility of the elders
3. Hate speach in traditional media and the new media
4. Variety of media reporting on LGBT+ population
5. National minorities in minority media and traditional media

The goal of the project is to contribute to the development of a more tolerant society in which publicly expressed discriminatory narratives are being condemned.

Specific goals of the project are: 1) professionalization of the media and media reporting on vulnerable groups, and 2) raising awareness about how hurtful is for a society when media foster prejudice towards some group of people.

The project is co-financed by the Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities. The views expressed in the supported media project do not necessarily espress the views of the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities, which allocated the funds.
